Four God Damn Hits?? Is that all we got??

Yep, that's all the Indians could muster up against the Cy Young caliber Gil Meche today. The Cy Young thing was meant to be a joke. But the four hits sadly is not. No runs either. This is just sad... I apparently can't cut and paste the Indians side of the box score but I can sum it up pretty easily.

THE INDIANS ARE FUCKING HORRIBLE

Excuse the language, but they are. They're fucking horrible! They can't hit. They can't field. They can't pitch. And that's pretty much all you do in baseball. Soooo.

Looks like Manager Wedge has decided to try and shake things up by changing the lineup a bit by placing Gutierrez in the 2 spot, followed by Dellucci. Yes, you read that right. David f'n Dellucci is now hitting in the 3 spot for a major league team. Hafner has been dropped to the 6 spot, Garko to the 7th. Hafner has really responded well by going 2 for his last 10 including 2 straight games without a hit.

Earlier this season I was contemplating getting the MLB package so I could watch the Indians every night. Am I glad I opted to not spend the money.

I don't know what they can do? They should have good pitching. They should have good hitting. Victor is leading the league in hitting right now, but when you hit singles with nobody on base, what's the point? He's got 6 extra base hits and no homers. Awesome!

CC is starting to get things figured out. But when Gutierrez can't catch a fly ball and the O only scores 2 runs a game, not many pitchers are going to be good. He's now 1-5. Maybe you should have signed that deal in the off-season, eh CC??

A couple of weeks ago, I thought they needed another bat in the outfield to hit behind Victor, in front of Garko. Now, the only thing another outfielder is going to do for them is suck up payroll.
Asdrubal Cabrera?? Seriously? Is this really the best you can do?

These guys are struggling to hit .200!

Alright, I suppose I should have something good to say. Cliff Lee is having a good season. And the future on the mound should look bright with Carmona, Laffey, who pitched real well today, and Sowers.

Enough flowers and puppies. As I look at this lineup I see their 5-9 guys. Peralta, Hafner, Garko, Blake, and Cabrera. They're hitting .216, .209, .242, .202, .191. Not going to win very many baseball games with a lineup like that.

Makes me sick. You know what else makes me sick? Roger Clemens. Now it has come out that he was sticking John Daly's ex-wife on the side too. I'm sure he's sitting in a lawyers' office denying that one too.

I hope everybody watched last weeks' episode of The Real World. It was simply amazing.

I also read that Wedge is planning on putting Borowski back into the closer's role when he gets healthy. I guess it doesn't really matter if you can't score any runs, huh???

Mindy McCready???? What's Next???

So good ole' Roger Clemens is back again lying about anything and everything he possibly can. Now, it's an affair with ex-country star Mindy McCready. What can he possibly lie about next?? First the juice, then being at a Jose Canseco party, then the entire congressional hearing happened, and now he's lying about having a 10 year affair?
And you know you can absolutely not make this stuff up. I always compare things like this to Apollo 13. Great movie. Very emotional. Do they make it back? Do they skip off the earth's atmosphere and get lost in space forever? The only way this is a good movie is the fact that it's true. If it was made up in some struggling writers' mind, it would be a horribly unbelievable tale in which they all make it back safe in the end.

This can't possibly be made up. Everybody who was mentioned in the Mitchell Report has basically come clean. They've all admitted that "...yes, I did in fact, get caught cheating..." on some level or another. Throwing this on top of Clemens' denial, throwing his wife under the bus, and now finding out that he's been cheating on her for at least a decade, and again lying about it, is simply amazing.

And another reason why this story has to be true? Mindy Freaking McCready is telling the NY press that, "...Yes, I did in fact have an affair with Roger for the better part of 10 years..." So, I'm thinking, just like everybody else, who has some sort of brain capacity, that he's guilty as guilty gets. Not only in this, but everything else he's accused of. At this point, people could start making shit up about him and everybody is going to believe it.

And the funny part, not really, funny ha-ha, but more, funny sad, is that McCready was apparently addicted to Oxycontin, arrested, put on probation, found guilty of violating her probation, and found not guilty of a drunk driving arrest. Nice work Roger, I'm going to throw out there that you probably ruined this girls' life in the process too. Good people. And at this point if he comes out and says that he didn't get her the Oxy, who would believe him? Not me.

I wonder how that congresswoman feels now that asked him what uniform he's going to wear into the Hall Of Fame? Idiots...

And on a similar note, I caught an episode of A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila tonight. First of all, the people that are trying to win are just out of their mind. Right up there with the girls that are on the Bret Michaels show, probably worse. Secondly, why do these people really want to be with this Tila Tequila. Her only claim to fame is this horrible MTV show and some myspace/YouTube videos. Just doesn't make sense in my head?? And lastly, one of the "contestants" is a high school football coach. He's on the show acting like a complete, drunken, jackass. I have a feeling that the school he works at is going to have a few words for him after this show is over. Probably along with his coaching career.

Anyhow, that's about it for tonight. HBO is finally showing some reruns of The Soprano's. This makes me forget all about Tila.

Holy Last 24 Hours of Sports, Batman!!

Where do you start today??? Oh man! The Boilers win a great game against Michigan State. Clemens and McNamee in front of congress. Kelvin Sampson and IU caught with 5 major rules violations. Wisconsin beating IU. Purdue owning a 1 game lead in the Big 10. And another amazing episode of The Gauntlet III was on last night. Where to start???

I guess I'll start out with the MTV hit The Gauntlet III. I can't get enough of the people on this show. Last night was no exception. After getting smacked in the head with a wooden board Melinda was taken off on a stretcher to the hospital where she found out that she had a consussion and was dehydrated. Alright, that's tolerable. But when they came up to the next mission and she had to drop 20 or so feet off of a beam into the water, she came up with this little nugget, "...I have a concussion, if I hit the water the wrong way, I'm going to die..." That would have been something. And from Kenny, "...it was just mind over matter. I don't mind, and you don't matter..." I can't get enough of these people!

Next let's go to the IU mess. That scumbag coach IU hired just doesn't learn from his mistakes, and then lies about it to the important people he shouldn't be lying to. I don't even know what all he did, all I know is that he did much of the same things at Oklahoma and lost his job there. What a jackass. Here's a good article from ESPN.com about their options. IU being banned from the postseason would just be icing on the cake for us Boilermaker fans!

Last night's IU-Wisconsin game ended with a banked 3-pointer by Brian Butch at the buzzer. Great ending to a horrible day for the IU basketball program.

Next is the huge Purdue victory over MSU. What a game. Robbie Hummel played one of the greatest games for Purdue in recent history. He did it all, rebounds, points, hustle... Just a great performance. I know I've said it before, and I'm probalby going to say it again, but this is a real fun team to watch! 10-1 in the Big 10. Nobody could have predicted this!

Which brings us to the 1 game lead Purdue now has in the Big 10. They have a couple of big games left, at IU and at home against Ohio State, but they're clearly in the driver's seat of the Big 10 race.

And lastly, I saw things yesterday that I am sure I will never, ever, see again in my lifetime. Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee sitting at a table, Clemens saying:

"...I never took steriods or HGH or any other performance enhancing
drugs..."

And sitting 2 people down from Clemens you have Brian McNamee saying:

"...I injected Roger Clemens, his wife, his dog, and 2 of his kids, with HGH
and steroids..."

Then you have Clemens saying:

"...McNamee injected me with B12 on 2 occasions..."

Followed by McNamee saying:

"...I've never injected anybody with B12. I really don't even know what it is..."

Then Clemens retorts with:

"...I never went to Jose Canseco's house party..."

Followed by Clemens not-so-good-speaking-the-English nanny saying:

"...Oh yes, we were at Canseco's house, we spent the night, the whole family was there, even the dog..."

And all of this in front of congress. Now, I think McNamee is a complete scumbag, he's lied, made some horrible decisions, done some horrible things in the past, don't get me wrong. But I believe just about every word that came out of his mouth yesterday. I believe very little of what Clemens says. Not to mention he threw his wife under the bus the day before Valentine's Day and used the word "misremembered" far too many times. I can honestly say I have never in my life heard that word used in a sentence before yesterday, I'm not even sure that it is a word.

Anyhow, Clemens looked horrible. He lied, and he lied, and he lied, and then he lied some more. He deserves to be out of baseball and should not be voted into the Hall. I have to think, if he had come out after the Mitchell Report and said that he did those things, he made a mistake, he won't do it again, I love the game and I wanted to continue playing which is why I made the decisions I made... All would be forgotten, not a big deal, lots of guys were doing it, let's move on. But with all of what he has gone through, he just looks more like a dirtbag. He was one of the greatest pitchers of our generation, and he will now be remembered as a liar. Such a shame.

I still can't believe this Boilermaker team!!!

Dickie V is Back In The Booth, Baby!!

And with exactly 4:06 remaining in the first half, I was completely disgusted that I would be forced to listen to him for the rest of the game. I don't know what he was talking about, I think it was something about him wanting a recipe for lasagna or something, but I had had enough. Not only this, but I learned that you can't win a game without a point guard, Tyler Hansborough "...just loves college basketball..." because he got excited after a foul or something, and I heard about 25 times about "...this is the greatest rivalry in the history of the world, baby!!!" I truly believe hell is watching great game after great game, and he's the only one doing commentary.

Apparently Brian McNamee has a secret stash of gauze bandages, syringes, blood and stool samples, and other concrete evidence claiming Clemens did actually take steroids. Of course Clemens' lawyers are claiming that McNamee "manufactured" the evidence. I truly believe that Roger Clemens is the only person in america that doesn't believe he took steriods. Does he really think we're going to believe that Petitte did the juice and good ole' Roger just stood there and watched and said, "...not me, I'm not a cheater..." Sure Rog, just come clean, it's going to be much easier in the end.

Oh, Duke beat Carolina in the Dean Dome last night. I almost forgot to mention the game, I think it's because of the nightmares of Dickie V I had last night. Anyhow, if Ty Lawson plays, I think it's a closer game, but Duke just shot the lights out. It's tough to beat any team that makes 13 3-pointers. Hansborough is tough, but that point guard, Thomas, was horrible. He was out there playing like every possession was 1 on 5. He destoryed the Heels. He went flying through the lane with nowhere to go more times than I care to remember, he was painful to watch. It must be quite a feeling to beat Carolina in the Dean Dome.

According to ESPN.com, Northwestern football has a better recruiting class than Purdue this year. Let me repeat that. NORTHWESTERN HAS A BETTER RECRUITING CLASS THAN PURDUE!!!!! Does that not turn your stomach?? I'm not sure how much stock you can put into this, after all, ND did have a top 10 recruiting class last year and look where that got them? But still, come on Joe, step it up a notch here!

Some Links For Your Monday Morning

Apparently you should not get hit by this guy when riding your bike.

I think this woman has the quote of the year so far. "If I hadn't gotten so drunk, I guess my baby wouldn't have died." They should try putting her into a microwave to see how it feels.

The New Home Sales numbers came out today. The December numbers were the worst of 2007 and the November numbers were revised down even further. This is not good at all for the economy. I have a pretty good feeling the fed will be lowering rates another 50 basis points on Wednesday.

But at least our airport security is in tip top form!

Want to go to the Super Bowl?? Better have some cash!

Tiger won another golf tourney, tying Arnold Palmer for 4th all time in career wins. And Clemens is still trying to tell people that he didn't actually do steroids. I suppose the sun is going to set in the west tonight too.

And finally, when Pikus gets back from Ireland, he's going to be really excited about this!

I thought a nice soothing picture of the Engineering Fountain would be nice. Hope you're having a happy Monday.
